Alissa and Jared’s Wedding on Martha’s Vineyard

Alissa and Jared’s wedding was the first wedding I had the privilege to shoot on Martha’s Vineyard.  I was thrilled to have Jenn Alton, a previous Vineyard resident, along with me for the trip as my guide and fantastic second shooter. Alissa and Jared had one of the best big reveal reactions I have ever seen, and their whole bridal party was there to witness it.  Usually we make this a private moment for just the couple but Alissa and Jared wanted all their friends involved.  So we incorporated them into the background so that they would compliment the shots.

Alissa was able to make it out to the big reveal right on time due to an amazing technique her friend Kendra taught us using a bobby pin to close all the loops over the buttons on the back of Alissa’s dress.  I took a video of it so you could see her fantastic technique in action.

Alissa and her family decorated the East Chop Beach Club with simple strings of large incandescent bulbs and put them on dimmer switches to give the interior a warm romantic feel.  Rather than having wedding cake, Alissa and Jared served their favorite desserts of pie and donuts to their guests.  As always I was down (literally) on the dance floor getting shots of the guests dancing away.  To my surprise, when going through Jenn’s shots afterward, I found a behind the scenes shot of me shooting.  So when I say I’m willing to get down on my knees for my clients, you know I really mean it.
